What do you think of people creating new names for their children?

I'm just glad my parents gave me a normal one!What do you think of people creating new names for their children?
i'd say they feel like they are very ordinary and they don't like it, so they're trying to make their kid special by giving it a not so common name.





i generally feel sorry for people with incredibly long and impossible-to-remember kinda names.

i think it borders on child abuse really. imagine being called moonbeam or shanuki or sumthin stupid when u reach 80! stupid names arent so bad when the kids r young but they dont stay kids 4ever! what happened 2 the good old days of strong names like john and betty?? the world has gone mad dear
My parents give me a unique name which people can immediately know who I am. It sounds weird in western countries but acceptable in Asia.





My professors usually stop for a while and read my name. =D
